Call for Papers
The Ethereum Research Symposium (ETHReS) 2026 invites submissions of original research contributions in the area of blockchain and decentralized systems. ETHReS aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working on theoretical and applied aspects of blockchain technologies, with a particular (but not exclusive) focus on Ethereum-related research.
ETHReS is co-located with ETH Prague 2026, which supports the happening of ETHReS. The dates of ETHReS are 8-10 May 2026.
Topics of Interest
We welcome submissions including, but not limited to:
Blockchain protocols and consensus mechanisms
Modelling and simulations of blockchains and economics
Game-theoretic analysis
Smart contracts and formal verification
Ethereum infrastructure
Scalability solutions
Layer 2 solutions and rollups
Decentralized finance (DeFi)
Governance and DAOs
Token economics and mechanism design
Applications of blockchain technology
Interoperability and cross-chain solutions
Zero knowledge cryptography
Post-quantum cryptography constructs
Security, privacy, and attacks
Submission Guidelines
ETHReS adopts a double-blind reviewing policy. All submissions must be anonymized and may not contain any identifying information of the authors. Submitted papers must be original and contain work that has not been published or is under review elsewhere (except the posters).
We accept 3 kinds of submissions:
Full Papers
10-20 single-column pages (excluding references and appendices)Short Papers
5-9 single-column pages (excluding references and appendices)Posters
The poster itself + accompanying PDF (e.g., pre-print, previously published paper, write-up, etc.).
Appendices are allowed, but will be considered at the reviewers’ discretion.
Proceedings
All accepted full and short papers will be included in the symposium proceedings, which will be submitted to CEUR-WS.org for online publication. Consequently, all submissions must be formatted according to the CEURART style (single-column).
Posters
We encourage the authors of posters to present either novel or previously published results (i.e., under submission to another venue) as part of the poster session. The authors of the full and short papers will be optionally considered for a poster session (if indicated during the submission), on top of the regular paper submission.
Extended Abstract Option
The authors of accepted short and full papers will also have the option to publish only a 4-page extended abstract of their paper in the symposium's proceedings, along with a URL pointing to the full paper (e.g., preprint). The 4-page limit also involves references. The authors of the extended abstract will have to orally present their work at the symposium along with the other regular paper presentations; however, they will not be eligible for the best paper awards. The titles of these papers should contain a suffix (Extended Abstract).
Submission Site
All submission should be made through EasyChair:

Presentation & Registration
At least one author of each accepted submission must attend ETHReS for the oral presentation of their work. See further details at Registration.
